American Ice Theatre



Providing the highest quality in performing art, American Ice Theatre cultivates a new art form by fusing classical and contemporary dance with figure skating in performance, education, and training.

American Ice Theatre (AIT) was founded by Jodi Porter in 2003. Her vision is to help change the world of figure skating by furthering the development of a new art form which melds the technical and compositional elements of dance on ice. She has worked as a choreographer to develop this idea since 1997. Moving to the Bay Area in 2002, Ms. Porter has continued her vision here in San Jose by developing the first Professional Ice Ballet Company. Modeled after a professional dance company, AIT will create a home-season with Fall and Spring performances.
