Canada College Theatre Arts Department
The Department of Theatre Arts of Canada College is committed to being one of the top theatre programs in the Northern California Community College system. Our department provides an environment where students are encouraged to recognize their differences and celebrate their commonality through the art of the theatre. Students experience theatre that ranges from classical dramatic literature to new works, and develop an appreciation and knowledge of the art form. Exploration of their own creativity enriches each student and expands their choice of career paths.
About Director Linda Hoy:
Miss Hoy comes to Canada College with over thirty five years experience in the field of theatre, film, television and radio voice-over work. She is a veteran of over 120 plays, 72 television shows, 26 commercials, and 13 films. She is the recipient of 8 San Francisco Bay Area Theatre Critic Awards, 2 Dramalogue Awards, 2 Dean Goodman Awards, and a Garland Honorable Mention Award. She was elected to The Who's Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities in the 1999-2000 academic year. While in graduate school at San Jose State University, she was awarded the Doc Arends Award for Directing.
