Full Intro: Karen Stone

Introducing... Karen Stone

I am from Baltimore, Maryland and studied drama & music with Howard Ashman, the producer & songwriter of Disney's, "Little Mermaid","Beauty & The Beast" & "Aladdin" at our mutual high school. I had several leads & parts in musicals that he had written in the 60's and then became a member of the National Thespian Society. I have been performing on stage professionally for 40 years from Baltimore to the Gulf Coast & overseas. 23 years of that were recording in various professional studios in several states and was a finalist on the National Network TV show, "You Can Be A Star". This led to the recording of 3 albums in Nashville under the name "Karianne" with her traveling band at the time, "The Cadillacs". I am presently teaching private Voice & Piano Lessons in Lakeland, Florida and am living near my two sons & their families. I became a musical director over the last few years for Plant City Entertainment and directed; "Guys N" Dolls", "Forever Plaid" & "All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten". "Guys N" Dolls" received the Applause Award for Best Production in 2005-2006 & I was nominated for Best Musical Director for "Forever Plaid" in 2007. I have thoroughly enjoyed still being able to do the things I love the most and am very grateful for all of the friends I have made along the way.
