Introducing... Kevin Long
KEVIN LONG (Acting Instructor) has worked professionally in various equity and summer stock theatres in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana and Illinois and is currently an instructor of speech and theatre at Harper College. Kevin has over seventeen years experience teaching acting and theatre classes and has directed over forty productions, including his highly acclaimed productions of BUS STOP, OVER THE TAVERN, RAGTIME, LOST IN YONKERS, LES MISERABLES, DARK OF THE MOON and SHE LOVES ME, for various professional and community theatres as well as universities, colleges, & high schools. Described as “An actor’s director,” Kevin has the proven ability to guide artists and students in the creation of fully-realized, authentic characters through a series of developmental steps evolving from the Stanislavsky method. Additionally, Kevin presents the workshop “Shakespeare Whispers in Your Ear” which explores the language and theatre of Shakespeare through the use of the First Folio. Most notably, the workshop was presented at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre’s teacher workshop for THE COMEDY OF ERRORS.
