Introducing... Mark Dittelman
Smorgasbord. Not just a fun word to say but also a way to describe my varied background. Entertaining, in one form or another, has been my primary passion. I have appeared in a number of musicals and one-act plays over the past 23 years, most recently WPC's “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street”, nominated for 9 DASH Awards by the Eastern Massachusetts Association of Community Theatres, and will be appearing in the upcoming production of “Arsenic and Old Lace” in April 2013.
I have developed presentation skills and writing abilities, having honed these attributes through the completion of my undergraduate and graduate degrees. Following the completion of my studies, I worked for a few years in the radio field providing both production pieces and voice-over work for an Oldies morning show where I served as associate producer. I have also host the occasional wedding and charity event in an MC/DJ capacity.
I was formerly a member of the NY-based improv comedy troupe The Zamboni Revolution, where we performed at Off-Broadway clubs such as the Gotham Comedy Club and The Little Theater, in addition to Broadway performances at Caroline's. I have studied improvisational comedy for the past 19 years and have participated in workshops ran by Second City and the Beau Geste Theatre. I currently serve in the role of co-president of NatickImprov, an organization established in 2009 to bring the education and performance of improvisational comedy to the Central Massachusetts and Greater Boston area.
I have also appeared in independent films including "Freedom Park", student films including "Mere Circumstances of Reality" and "The House", corporate instructional videos including "Interviewing Tips", as well as gaining extra work in mainstream films including "Celtic Pride" starring Dan Aykroyd and Daniel Stern.
My other focuses revolve around script writing and filmmaking for my internet-based sketch comedy team (http://www.youube.com/mrjeb.com ) and performing regionally with NatickImprov’s comedy performance troupe "Penguin Apocalypse" (http://www.natickimprov.com) and (http://www.facebook.com/natickimprov ). I am always looking for opportunities to further my acting chops in local films whenever possible. I am currently based in the Central MA area.
Last, I will leave you with my philosophy for life, work, play, relationships, pig roasts, demolition derbies, pogosticking, bass fishing, bread baking, etc....
