Patter for the Floating Lady concerns Angie and the bittersweet end of her relationship with a magician.  The magician wants to rekindle their love affair by levitating her with the hope that as she rises, she will realize that her new freedom is completely dependent on him.  He hopes to recapture the magic they once had and in the process discovers why their relationship failed.  Meanwhile Angie wants to hold on to the feelings she discovers in a tennis shoe, a shoe filled to overflowing with precious memories.
