La Cenerentola tells the age-old tail of Cinderella with a few minor differences. Cenerentola is the poorly treated stepdaughter of Don Magnifico. He and his spoiled daughters, Clorinda and Thisbe, treat Cenerentola as a servant. When the Prince arrives at the home disguised as a beggar, Clorinde and Thisbe are rude to him. Cenerentola, however, is kind to him and they quickly fall in love. Later, after Cenerentola sneaks off to the Prince’s ball, she and the prince meet again and confirm their love. She gives him a bracelet that matches the one she owns. In the days after the ball, the Prince seeks Cenerentola out to no avail. He eventually finds her after a storm forces his coach to stop at the Baron’s house. He recognizes her bracelet and the two live happily ever after.
