Synopsis:	Nabucco, the King of Babylon, has invaded Jerusalem and is looting the city. Abigaille, Nabucco�s supposed daughter tells Ismaele, the nephew of the King of Jerusalem that the city will be saved if he returns her love. He refuses her advances. Soon, Nabucco orders the temple looted and burned. Later, Abigaille discovers that she�s not really Nabucco�s daughter. However, she hides the fact and works to convince her father to kill all the Hebrews. She also wants her father�s throne. When Nabucco remembers that his daughter Fenena, who converted to the Hebrew religion, is among those condemned, he searches for the document that proves Abigaille's claim to the throne false. After finding it, he leads his soldiers to halt the execution of the Hebrews.
