Introducing... Malinda Dix-Hunt

Ms. Dix-Hunt has performed such leading roles as Leonora from the opera “Il Trovatore,” Cio-cio-san from “Madama Butterfly,” the title role of “Suor Angelica” and La Contessa Almaviva from “Le nozze di Figaro.” Joseph McLellan, Sr. Music Critic Emeritus, The Washington Post, said of her Cio-cio-san, “Her voice was lovely and expressive and she knew how to act with it.” Internationally, Malinda has enlivened the stages of Spoleto (Italy), Karlovy Vary and Kromeriz (Czech Republic), Kyoto, Nagoya and Tokyo (Japan) ... she traveled as an ensemble member with Washington National Opera’s (WNO) Japan Tour 2002. Ms. Dix-Hunt sang a showcase solo for WNO Chorus in their production of “Porgy and Bess,” at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, November, 2005. The performance was simulcast live on the National Mall in Washington DC, November 6, webcast and broadcasted live on and WETA-FM radio November 12, 2005 to twenty-three countries around the world.
