Introducing... Clemar Hunnigan
I believe that though acting and drama is ultimately my main interest, I should still have knowledge and experience in other art forms to allow myself to be marketable. As a result, I have some training in contemporary, ballet, and hip hop dance and can also claim that I have the fundamentals of a good singing voice and songwriting skills. I have had some vocal training and performing experience and am currently recording a demo album in the style of Soul.
As an actor, I am a follower of Stanislavskian and Grotowski methods and fully acknowledge the importance of researching a character’s objectives in order to portray the character in a believable manner through emotive aspects evident in speech and physicality. My personal rehearsal includes yoga and meditation techniques to perfect characterization. I have also used Stanislavskian methods on numerous occasions such as when I played Jesus in Tony Harrison’s Mysteries and an 11 year old runaway in productions on New York Off Broadway and the Edinburgh Fringe stages. Furthermore, I follow the Meisner method and have performed in plays influenced by practitioners Bertolt Brecht and John Godber.
