Full Intro: Cookie Dames - Tiglao

Introducing... Cookie Dames - Tiglao

Mabuhay from the Philippines! ^__^

I am Cookie, and have lived on this planet for almost 33 years now. I am a quarter American, a quarter Spanish, a quarter Chinese, and a quarter Filipino, but I was born and raised here in the Philippines and have lived here ever since.

I've loved watching musicals since I was a child, and I have puchased cassette tapes, CDs and iTunes albums of my favorite musicals' and plays' original soundtracks religiously for several years.

I've sung in the shower for as long as I can remember, but I have reached a point in my life where I wish to go beyond the four corners of my bathroom and as Belle has aptly put it, "I want adventure in that great, wide somewhere. I want it more than I can tell." Yes, I occasionally sing in church, but deep in my heart, I wish to be a thespian in the theater. I just get this certain sense of an overwhelming kind of calm whenever I watch musicals. I could definitely listen to Lea Salonga, Ramin Karimloo, Norm Lewis, Samantha Barks, Simon Bowman, Claire Lyon, Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth the whooole day. :-)

However, I just can't seem to get the chance to join a theater company, much less audition for a musical, because I have a very hectic schedule as a full-time mom, wife and employee! But a dream will always be a dream. I don't think it is something that I can just sweep under the rug and hope that I just forget about it. My husband and daughter are very supportive of me, and with them backing me up every step of the way, I know that I can face every challenge that may come my way, inexperience non-withstanding (Unless singing under the tutelage of a vocal coach for just a little over a month and after a week of singing lessons in a local Philippine opera company count? :-D).

I hope that I can be given the privilege of acting onstage someday. I know that I have much to learn, in terms of singing, dancing, and acting. But I am an open book. Open to criticisms, open to improvement. Because I'm human. It's part of my nature to evolve!

So with that, I am proud to be here. As raw as I am. :-)
