Introducing... katie pritchard
I graduated last year with a First Class BA (HONS) Degree in Musical Theatre, where my studies focused on Acting (Shakespeare, Brecht, Mamet and Stannislavsky approaches), Singing (Classical and Musical Theatre techniques), and Dancing (Ballet, Tap and Jazz). Throughout my course I had the pleasure of playing the supporting female roles in mnay of my major productions. These included; Carrie in "Carousel", Svetlana in "Chess", Queequeg in "Moby Dick! The Musical", and Lucy in "The Beggar's Opera". These shows spanned a wide variety of acting genres and vocal styles, which has helped make me an adaptable performer.
Since leaving university, I have found success on the Fringe scene as Joanne's Mum in "Rent" (The Broadway Theatre), Molly's younger brother in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (The Landor), and currently as Featured Ensemble in "Call Me Madam" (Upstairs at The Gatehouse). I have also been involved in a new project currently being written by exciting new writers Paul Kessell-Holland and Nicholas Scrivens called "The Greenwood Tree", and as such have performed in podcasts of their work-in-progress.
Last Christmas, I also played Sarah the Cook (the Dame), in Chaplin's Pantos version of "Dick Whittington", which toured around West London and the surrounding areas.
I am a strong singer, and have attained my Grade 8 ABRSM singing. My vocal range is quite wide, spreading across Mezzo-Soprano and Soprano ranges, with a strong and high belt up to top G comfortably, but I can pop belt higher.
