Mission: Presenting dynamic, inspiring, entertaining productions that ignite heart and mind and give great value for money.
Established in 1932, New Theatre is the oldest continuously-producing theatre company in Australia.
Each year New Theatre presents a season of six main-stage productions encompassing both the classic repertoire and the best of contemporary writing, supported by numerous rehearsed readings, as well as the "New Directions" series that provides a showcase for the talents of emerging directors, writers and designers.
New Theatre has produced the Australian premieres of many local and international plays (including Arthur Miller's 'The Crucible') and this is an on-going artistic commitment of the company. Many members are experienced professional theatre workers who give freely of their time in order to enable the company to mount the high-quality productions that have become its hallmark.
