ARLINGTON, Texas -- Yu Darvish couldve made things a lot easier on himself if only his foot had found the bag. Bernard Pierce Jersey . The Texas Rangers still won another game, and so did Darvish. Texas scored six times in the sixth to break it open right after Darvish had missed first base and given up a tying home run, beating the Chicago White Sox 10-6 on Tuesday night. "If I had touched the bag that would have ended the inning and I wouldnt have given up the home run," Darvish said through his translator. "But I think the home run fired up our team, and we scored a lot of runs after that, so I think it turned out to be a good one." Darvish (5-1) became the first Texas pitcher in 15 years to win five times in April, overcoming a shaky start with the help of some big hits -- and that big inning. Mitch Moreland, who had three hits, delivered a go-ahead double in the sixth and Adrian Beltre capped the burst with a two-run homer. The bases were loaded when Beltre got to the plate before two wild pitches by Nate Jones allowed two runs. The Rangers were coming off consecutive losses for the first time this season, and were shut out in Minnesota in their last game Sunday. "We were what, 11 innings before we scored a run, then we got some big hits, and just kept coming," manager Ron Washington said. Nelson Cruz and Jeff Baker homered on consecutive pitches in the fourth off White Sox starter Jose Quintana. Texas scored twice more in the fifth when Ian Kinsler had his fifth double in five games, driving in a run before he scored on a single by Elvis Andrus. Geovany Soto drew a one-out walk in the sixth off reliever Matt Lindstrom (1-2). Morelands double made it 5-4, and he scored on a single by Kinsler. The last Texas pitchers to win five games in April were Aaron Sele and Rick Helling in 1998. Darvish leads the majors with 58 strikeouts in 38 2-3 innings and nine more in his six innings. Darvish had thrown 18 consecutive scoreless innings before the White Sox, whose .229 batting average coming into the game was tied for the worst in the AL, scored twice and had four hits only six batters into the game. Darvish had allowed three hits in each of his three previous starts. "I really couldnt get into my rhythm from the beginning, and it wasnt really a smooth outing," Darvish said. "He had a rough first inning, then he put up four zeroes," Washington said. "It all started when he didnt touch first base, but he left a breaking ball up, the first mistake I felt like he made. Fortunate enough, we were able to put some runs on the board to pick him up. He picked us up." Chicago got even at 4 with two outs in the sixth when Dewayne Wise hit a two-run homer, the first home run off Darvish this season. That came a batter after Darvish failed to get his foot down on first base to complete what would have been an inning-ending double play. Moreland fielded Hector Gimenezs grounder to first and threw to second. Darvish took shortstop Elvis Andrus relay throw and caught the ball in time for the out, but he wasnt on the base and unsuccessfully reached back to try to touch it with his foot. Darvish immediately patted his chest with his hand, acknowledging his mistake, and even smiled. A few seconds later, he hung a slow breaking pitch over the centre of the plate to Wise, who snapped an 0-for-15 slide with four hits. Darvish then struck out Alejandro De Aza to end the inning. After scoring two quick runs, the White Sox had two runners on with one out in the second without scoring. "Youre not going to get all of them, but you miss those opportunities and you kick yourself. You have those opportunities and you got to try to cash them in," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "You get a couple in the first, you come up again and you get two guys on, and you think, a base hit right here, youre feeling pretty good about it. But hes not easy to hit, either, so it makes it tough. " NOTES: Quintana allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings. ... Moreland is hitting .429 (15 for 35) his last nine games. ... 3B Mike Olt, who made his major league debut with the Rangers last year and is one of the teams top prospects at Triple-A Round Rock, hasnt played since Thursday after saying he was having vision problems. General manager Jon Daniels said Olt was visiting doctors in the Arlington area Tuesday. Olt is hitting only .139 this season, and his struggles could be related to the unspecified issues with his eyesight. James Ihedigbo Jersey . Atlanta says Smith wont travel with the team. There was no mention of the injury after Smith played 41 minutes in the Hawks season-opening 109-102 loss to Houston on Friday night. Haloti Ngata Womens Jersey . For a half. "We still had momentum on our side, even though it wasnt with the fast tempo and the fast pace that we normally play at," Nuggets coach George Karl said after Denver raced to a 107-92 win over the surging Clippers on Thursday night. http://www.ravensofficialteamstore.com/ ... gb-43.html . The Toronto Maple Leafs - once down 3-1 in their opening round series with the Boston Bruins - have forced Game 7 at the TD Garden. Terrell Suggs Womens Jersey . The Hamilton Bulldogs rookie is leading the AHL club in scoring as he waits for a chance to attend his third NHL training camp with the parent Montreal Canadiens. Chris Canty Jersey . Hes been the next big thing. And hes walked away from the sport. Now the 26-year-old from Montreal is looking to advance his MMA career via "The Ultimate Fighter" reality show. NEW YORK -- Adam Jones took the blame. Nope, the triple play in the eighth inning had little to do with the Orioles 5-2 loss to the New York Yankees on Friday might. Jones dropped fly ball that allowed three runs to score in the seventh was Baltimores undoing. "Just missed it," Jones said. "You could say its rain. You could say its cold. You could say anything, wind, you could say whatever you want. I was there. Didnt catch it. Cost my team the game." With the score 2-all, the Yankees had loaded the bases on two walks -- one intentional -- and a hit batter. Vernon Wells hit a long fly ball off Pedro Strop that Jones -- a Gold Glove centre fielder -- ranged back for. On the warning track, Jones turned, raised his glove and blew a pink bubble. He closed his glove a bit early, and the ball bounced away clearing the bases. Baltimore started the eighth with singles by Alexi Casilla and Nick Markakis off CC Sabathia (2-1). Manny Machado then hit a sharp low liner that Robinson Cano caught on a short hop near second base. Cano threw to fill-in shortstop Jayson Nix at second for the forceout. Casilla, thinking the ball was going to be caught by Cano, got trapped in a rundown between second and third base. Youkilis tagged Casillas and made a quick throw to first baseman Lyle Overbay when Machado ranged too far off the bag. Overbay then made an awkward throw to Cano, who tagged Machado, setting off a celebration. "The two lead runners made the right play," Showalter said. "Its a line drive short-hop. You cant go anywhere because if he catches it, then he does get multiple outs. We just made a mistake on the trail runner trying to get a little overaggressive, a young player. But Mannys one of the reasons why we were in that game." Overbay, signed in late March to help fill in for Mark Teixeira, was worried his throw to Cano was going to spoil the play that was scored 4-6-5-6-5-3-4. "Good thing hes got good hand-eye co-ordination," Overbay said. After Cano applied the tag for the third out, he and his teammates high-fived and grinned broadly as they ran off the field. Sabathia thrust his fist in the air. "Thats like being a kid again," Youkilis said. "Thats one of the coolest things Ive ever had on the field. You dont see one written up like that. It was special. This game we play, its one of these games where its a job and its a grind at times. But when stuff like that happens, you feel like youre back playing little league again." The Orioles has not hit into a triple play since April 3, 1996, against Kanas City. The Yankees had last tuurned a triple play on April 22, 2010, at Oakland -- with Sabathia on the mound. Albert McClellan Jersey. They hadnt accomplished the feat in the Bronx since June 3, 1968, against Minnesota. In the first meeting between the teams since the Yankees eliminated the Orioles in Game 5 of the division series, Sabathia allowed two runs -- one earned -- and eight hits with nine strikeouts and no walks. Mariano Rivera pitched the ninth for his second save. Miguel Gonzalez (1-1) had trouble gripping the ball in the cold and walked five batters. But Showalter was impressed his team stayed in the game. "You can overcome it. It was still just two runs up there. It doesnt mean because you walked more people than you normally do that you concede the game. We didnt. We were right there." Baltimore tied it 2-all when Matt Wieters reached on Youkilis misplay and advanced on Sabathias balk. J.J. Hardy followed with an RBI single. "Made an aggressive mistake," Youkilis said. "You just dont want to give away outs." Youkilis had three hits and an RBI but made an error at third base that led to the tying run in the seventh inning. Youkilis has hit in all nine games hes played with the Yankees. Eduardo Nunez, filling in at shortstop for injured captain Derek Jeter, was hit on his right wrist by a pitch from Gonzalez and left after attempting a warmup throw before the third inning. X-rays were negative. Gonzalez then dropped No. 9 hitter Francisco Cervelli to the dirt in the fifth with a pitch that came close to the catchers head, and the right-hander was booed relentlessly by what remained of the 35,033 fans that withstood the blustery 35-degree wind chill. Cervelli ended up walking and coming around to score -- clapping his hands -- on Canos RBI single to left-centre, his eighth RBI in three games. "Miguel, I dont think he felt the baseball. He didnt really have a feel for his curveball most of the game," Showalter said. "It was frustrating for him, but CC had a good outing, did a lot of things hes been doing for a long time. Hes a pitcher. Miguel gave us a chance to win the game. We were fortunate not to give up more damage than we did." NOTES: Jones snapped his nine-game hitting streak to start the season ... The Orioles claimed RHP Alex Burnett off waivers from Toronto and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester. To make room on the 40-man roster, they transferred INF Wilson Betemit (torn right knee ligament) from the 15- to the 60-day DL. ... Orioles RHP Steve Johnson (lat strain) and LHP Tsuyoshi Wada (elbow surgery) are to throw in extended spring training Saturday. ' ' '
