What kind of oil is used on Honda civic ex?

i have a 2006 Honda civic ex and the owners manual says it "recommended that you use Honda motor oil" 5w20 is that true or can i use like mobil1 or Quaker or Valvoline. its my first car and it's used on the windshield left hand corner it says next oil change is due in 106,000 miles i got the car with 104,000. i really want to take care of this car. any Honda owners out there that can verify this.
