I understand that already a prototype model has been build. The primary mirrors are in place. Yet it is scaduald for launch somewhen in 2018. That's six years from now! For $ 8 billion + it shuld be possible to make it sooner. I don't know.Just frustrated I guess...

I think that a great place to go on a safari would be Tanzania. Tanzania is a wonderful and often overlooked place. It is home to Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti and the famed Ngorongoro Safari Crater. There is even a nice crater highlands trek you can take for 2-3 days until you get to Lake Natron, home to millions of flamingo's and Oldonyo Lengai (Mt. of God) which is a still active volcano you can summit.
