You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown auditions....

Postby ktkluvsbway on Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:39 pm

Hey!
I'm going to audtion for 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown', and I'd like some audition help.
...I'm not quite sure what to sing for my audition
My first idea was to sing 'I Know Things Now' from 'Into the Woods', but I just played Little Red for this company a year ago, and would like to sing something new.
One of my friends suggested singing 'Lovely' from '...Forum' , but I don't have the sheet music for it
I'm hoping to get the sheet music in time for the audition, but if I don't, does anybody have any other audition ideas?

First of all, if you are looking for sheet music, check out musicnotes.com. You can usually get sheet music there for about $5 and print it right off your computer. (You can even transpose occasionally.)
As far as other song options......here are some ideas:

"Soon as I Get Home" - from "The Wiz"
"I Won't Grow Up" - from "Peter Pan"
"I Enjoy Being a Girl" - "Bye Bye Birdie"
"NYC" - from "Annie" (less done song from that show with a great section for the "star-to-be")
or even "Not For the Life of Me" - from "Thoroughly Modern Millie"
or almost anything from "Schoolhouse Rock Live!"

These will keep that sense of youth as well as being in the belt-style singing of the show.
Hope this helps! (Just remember to always pick a song that you like and you feel good singing!!)
Break a Leg!! :D
