Independent Film Audition

I have an audition for an independent film this week. I've never auditioned for a film before (I've only been an Extra). What can I expect and how should I prepare?

Congratulations, Ask a friend to read the scene with you. Try a few different approaches as you go through the material. Get plenty of sleep the night before an audition. You'll perform better if you are well-rested.
Best of luck..

First of all congrats for you.. Choose a monologue from the Importance of Being Earnest, by a character you feel you could successfully play. Then RESEARCH! Watch how others have done it, read the play. Make yourself familiar with the plot and all the characters. There are many film versions of this play that will help with characterization etc.
