Question about a reperatoire choice

Postby snowflakest.claire on Thu May 28, 2009 2:07 pm

My problem is that I really want to use "A Little Bit of Good" from Chicago as an audition peice...BUT this is a peice for a male soprano and I am a female soprano. I really want to use it becuase it shows off my range and classical training as well as my comedic skills...and there are VERY few classical-style musical theatre songs that are also for character actors specializing in comedy. Does anyone have any suggestions as to other peices that might be more appropriate than "A Little Bit of Good"? Or do you think it is safe to use it in an audition, considering many regional theatres use women in the role when no male sopranos turn up.
