Dr. Hazlett was summoned to the scene to see if he could amputate Floyd’s leg in hopes of freeing him from the rocks. He is unable to do so for fear that Floyd will bleed out before they can get him to safety. He does, however, take an interest in Lee Collins’ bad cough
