Overview

Synopsis

A rags-to-riches story full of sarcasm and scatological humor, Greek follows Eddy as he voyages beyond his home in the East End of London to find love, wealth, and his true identity. Steven Berkoff’s Greek is a modern, punk recreation of Oedipus Rex, featuring lots of Cockney slang, adult language, and scenes of a sexual nature. In Greek, London is the new Thebes; full of riots, filth, decay, football mania, and post-pub depression. Under Margaret Thatcher’s rule, London is suffering from a social plague, eating away at the heart of the nation and Eddy is on a journey to rid his personal life and London of a curse. Greek is a visceral, comedic love story which will have you laughing from start to finish.
